SWIM- cHAPTER 1

SWIM!!

Chapter 1
Midnight swim

Bang there goes another one. Fire works are going off left and right pink then purple then blue. Hinex sits on the yellow, coarse sand, her drawing book in her lap, pictures of mermaids on every page. She can hear her family’s voices laughing and singing. Its her own birthday party, she is 15 now, but she’s gone back to the sea again. She has always been drawn to the sea but she has never known why.
“Hinex…… Hinex “
That’s her mum most probably wanting her to talk to one of the boys who were there (although she already has a boyfriend)
“Hinex where are you darling?”
“I’m here mum”
“You know you really have to stop coming down here boys don’t like girls who are day dreamers”
“Mike likes me that way!!”
“What? You mean that riff raff you call a boyfriend?”
“Yes!! And he’s not a riff raff just because he doesn’t live in a big fancy house like ours!!”
“yes it does now get back up to that party and talk to some of the young men who have come here for you “
“I don’t need to and anyway they are none of MY friends you just invited all of your friends to MY party just because my friends aren’t good enough for you!!”
“You will not talk to me that way young lady now get back up to that party”
By now her mums round full face was as red as a tomato that’s too ripe.
“NO”
“What do you mean no, I am your mother now don’t make me say it again get back to that party!!”
“NO”
Then Hinex jumped up grabbed her book and her pencils and ran and ran and ran until she couldn’t run anymore by the time she relised  where she was it was to late her mother had ran and followed her (considering the size her mother was she could run fast).
So Hinex quickly dug a hole is the sand and put her pencils and book into the hole then covered them up and stuck a stick in the sand to tell her where they were. Then she ran and jumped into the water and swam just far enough so that she was sure her mother couldn’t she her. She watched her mother carefully. Her mother stood there for a long time then walked of slowly because she had run quite along way. Hinex was just about to go back and get her stuff when she heard something or someone calling to her softly, she looked round but all she saw was her mother’s figure slowly walking back to the house.
“Hinex……Hinex”
There it was again. This time when she turned round there was a face close to her face she could hear their soft breathing, the hot air was good to feel on her skin. Only when the figure moved did she see that it was Mike.
“Mike? You scared me” she whispered in a low tone although she did not know why “What are you doing here? But Mike didn’t answer
“What’s wrong?”
Then all of a sudden he grabbed her and pulled her into the water, she felt the water on her pale skin which seemed lighter in the moonlight.
“What are you doing? …..MIKE!!!”
